Our first trip to this city was a wonderful surprise. Contrary to the usual bad press of rife criminality and mountains of refuse lying piled high on its streets, Naples or Napoli to give its correct name is a city of colour and light. Reminiscent of that seen in Impressionist paintings the clarity and brightness give the buildings and the people a sheer vibrancy that is more frequently found in air-brushed holiday brochures.

The other lasting impression is the warmth of everything from the sea-breeze to the hospitality of the people. Unusually helpful and caring they lavished my 10 month year old son ...

Sopot and Gdansk Ever got sick and tired of the incessant heat that goes on long after the sun has gone down and you can't sleep on holiday? Ever had enough of fighting for the sunbeds and trying to squeeze yourself in between all the other beachmakers on a packed beach only to find that the sand is unbearably hot as you make your way into the water? Is Romanian or Bulgarian set to rival Polish as the commonest EU language in the UK?

Romanian and BulgarianNext year is predicted to see an influx of Romanian and Bulgarian immigrants to the UK. This will be the second wave of EU immigration. Reports indicate that these nations have at least ten times more motivation to come and settle here than the Poles. On the other hand contrary views expressed in the recent Foreign Office commissioned report indicate that actually these immigrants are more likely to go to Spain or Italy and that estimates of millions are exaggerated.

Irrespective of which view is correct, there is no doubt that there will be immigrants from those countries...
